The Best Hut In The World 🌍

We read the fantastic book 'Hester and Lester' by Kyle Mewburn. It is a story about the special bond between a sister and brother, and the power of imagination.

Statistical Literacy

We were allowed to bring a 'toy friend' from home so we could sort and classify the toys.
We made statistical statements about our findings.

First we sorted the toys into four categories.  Toys with wheels, animal toys, 'people' toys and make-up.  We discovered that animals were the most popular toy friend to bring to school. Cooper said, "Toys with wheels and animal toys are similar." The least popular toys to bring to school were 'people' toys and make-up.  Isabel said. " The make-up line is very small.  Make up is the least popular from home."

The second graph that we made sorted the toy friends into big and small toys.  David said, "The least popular are the little toys."  Cossar said, "The big toys were the most popular to bring to school."

Pranav suggested that we make the next graph about toys that feel hard and soft.
The most popular toy friend to bring from home were hard toys.

AND on Friday afternoon we turned the classroom into
The Best Hut In The World!!
